5/6 Year Old Tee Ball Program
T-Ball is the introductory program that KLMBGC offers to introduce our kids to the wonderful game of baseball. It is PARAMOUNT that the players are taught the fundamental skills of baseball during this time, and that they enjoy the process!
T-Ball is a co-ed sport geared towards introducing boys and girls to the sports of baseball and softball. The instruction is based on the fundamentals of the two sports, introducing the children to the field of play, positions, routine plays and the mechanics of fielding and hitting.
In T-Ball, the pitcher is used for defensive purposes only. The ball is placed on an adjustable tee atop home plate at a suitable height for the batter to hit, i.e. within their strike zone. Most of the other rules are similar or identical to those of baseball and softball, though the game is played on a smaller field.
KLMBGC is pleased to offer two T-Ball programs for the girls and boys in our community. We provide an intramural program for 3 and 4 year olds called “Cougar Cubs”, as well as a County team for kids between the ages of 5 and 6 that participates in the PG County Boys and Girls Club (PGCBGC) league, under the Babe Ruth Organization.
