Cal Ripken Minor - 9/10 Year Old Program
KLMBGC offers player-pitch teams for kids between the ages of 9 and 10 and participates in the PG County Boys and Girls Club (PGCBGC) league, under the Babe Ruth Organization. This age group, known as the Cal Ripken Minor League, has 60 feet diamond dimension, or distance between bases; and a 46 feet plate to mound distance. Base runners cannot take leads, however they are allowed to attempt to advance as soon as the pitch crosses home plate.
The field layout is similar to that of Little League Baseball (which you see on TV) although those players are 11 and 12.
